Distracted Driving

While driving, have you ever seen someone going slower than normal, or weaving a bit too much.  Most likely, if you pull up near them, you’ll notice that they’re talking, texting, or using their cell phone.  If they’re using their phone, they are not concentrating on driving.

Thousands of motorists and pedestrians are killed, and hundreds of thousands of people are injured every year due to the use of cell phones while driving.

While most people think that talking on a cell phone hands-free is safe, science has proven that any type of talking on the cell phone is just as dangerous as driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Any kind of distraction while driving – visual, manual, or cognitive, takes your focus off driving defensively.

Driving a vehicle is normally the most dangerous activity you will do on any given day, so when you get in your vehicle, silence your phone and put it away to avoid the temptation to use it.

Make sure you focus 100% of your energy on getting to your destination safely.
