Proper Vision Technique

ave you ever had a situation where you had to quickly apply your brakes or make a sudden move to avoid a crash?  This typically occurs because drivers usually only look three or four car lengths in front of them, giving themselves little time to react to a given situation.

By using your central vision to look further ahead, towards the horizon, you’ll have more time to identify a potential hazard and put yourself in a position to avoid a crash.

You can use your peripheral vision to see changes in your environment that are closer to you, such as motion, changes in color and changes in shape.

Improve your ability to drive defensively by getting in the habit of looking towards the horizon.
